the tonic of the wild
a tiny island / is there anything better than a meadow filled with queen anne's lace that beautifully frames the sea / ruby red deadly nightshade berries - atropa belladonna / a tansy edged mown path to somewhere / seaweed / bees + clover = love / when the sky & sea are one / miniature forests / ants busy doing their thing / lichenologist love
We need the tonic of wildness... at the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature. Henry David Thoreau
I know I can never have enough of nature, I never tire of capturing, obsessively most often, the beauty, the wonder ...
the tonic of the wild.

ReplyDeleteWonderful images dear Susan, there is so much beauty and wonder in the palette of colours and randomness without order which nature creates for us.
