Concierge M. Oliver avec house guest

From the recent photo archives - Feb 14th weekend to be exact. A Peter Wash impersonator happily ensconced dans la chocolate brown guest room avec morning coffee and most excellent 29 Black Street concierge. Was there ever ? Is there now ? a sweeter cat in the whole wide world ? We sure don't think so. He's here beside me right now - Mr. Calico Love helping me compose my words, purring madly, soft as can be and smelling, as always, of fresh laundry.

Tomorrow (early morning) I will attempt to get myself to our little village hospital by 7am without any morning coffee (spooky organ music dramatically sounds in the background - loud & terrifying) Sigh. It must be done. I'm having the super duper blood work taken. The fast for 12 hours (not a big deal) nothing by mouth (except petite sips of water) kind of blood work. I can do it, I've done it before. I will likely drive, the 97' teal coloured Ford Escort wagon, and bring my aluminum travel coffee mug with me so that Coffee & Me can be reunited ASAP. And this from the girl who dared to suggest, only days ago, that she might consider no coffee for 6 weeks (a chorus of evil cackling laughter can be heard).

I'm mentioning it now because I'm not sure how it may effect my early morning blogging ... but I'm thinkin' it may just put a tres large wet damper on things. Back to the nest I go, coffee in hand, this early morning to await the magical land of bubbles & scent.

Yipes ! I just remembered it's a Monday. Sigh. there's that darn organ music again.

  1. I completely understand the need for coffee...another addict offers support? Susan, I have my little sip cup next to me when I meditate in the morning? (I say this avec a confessional tone.) Sans coffee? Sans brain. What can I do?

I gave up coffee more than once in my life. It's a big decision. We lost power last week (a normal occurence here in Puerto Rico)and I went to work without my first cup. I felt numb all morning...like I was walking in thick air. At about 11am (after teaching two classes)I had a large coffee and a pocillo to go.

I sat in my office, sipping and working...contentment washed over me...or was that the coffee kicking in? It's not the time for me to quit...but I have cut down. Seriously...how can I quit? I have too much to do! <3

  2. Oh yes! Your kitty is a dream. My Junie climbs on the laptop keypad if I ignore her too long...not the harmony of action that you describe!

  3. I'm so glad to hear that you are having the bloodwork done! It certainly paid off for me. And as much as I adored my several cups of rich, dark glorious coffee every morning, I sure do feel better without it. :P

  4. I refuse to give up that morning cup, maybe the one in the afternoon, but no way on the two in the morning!I had the blood work trial a few weeks ago, all was fine except I am now taking a half Lipatrol once a day. I must get on the Oatmeal I suppose.
    Xoxo,

  5. Ohhhhhh....how sweet is the Concierge at 29 Black Street? Makes me want to book that very room....

hey Susan...I do wish I could do some cloning of you-know-who...he'd have several "identicals" and one would be on the plane to N.S....

  6. Oliver is SO adorable! And a cup of coffee in the morning and some quiet time is what I need to get my day started.

  7. Organ music and evil cackling... oooh! It's a good thing you have the sweet concierge to shoo all the "scaries" away. And he is very sweet.

I have to have just one cup of coffee in the morning... that's not so bad, is it?

  8. The thing I'm the most concerned about is the fact that I get up at 5am and the lab doesn't open 'til 7am. What's a girl and her Missy D to do for two (count em) coffee free hours ? she worries to herself ...

--Hahaha. You simply musti continue to drink coffee as we all love to hear how you have it brewing in the morning. It's too much part of your important morning ritual, and besides which , it makes me feel oh so terribly cozy.
