tulips from my garden - spring 2008

I keep having dreams about the Obama's - in my dreams I'm a friend of theirs - I hang out with them - at their house which I gotta say is amazingly cas (ual) & comfy ... for a white house - I guess I'm in their social circle and let me tell you they are both such nice, down to earth people. Wink. I told you I was tres jealous maybe I'll apply for my green card - Kidding ! totally!! and Hey ! the O's are adopting a dog from a shelter. How absolutely perfect is that ? That will be such a giant boost for shelter's everywhere and all the thousands and thousands of dogs (& cats) who need to find a good home. Way to go ! (once again) Mr O.

I've been cruising les photo archives once again and I couldn't pass by these tulips from last spring, this lovely reminder that very soon the ground all around this old brick house will begin to stir. This gorgeous smack of colour when everything around us is grey and white and icy blue ... still. But not for long. The time sprung forward through the night and the first day of spring is only 2 weeks away. Hooray!! the huge wall of fire wood in my sunporch is nearly gone and solid milk chocolate bunnies, as if by magic, soon will appear.

Hey ! it's my fav day of the week - Sunday - hope y'all have a great day.

  2. Hope you have a great day too! I am giddy today. I love, love, love when we switch over to daylight savings time. I always feel like I've been on a long, trip and have turned the corner to see home. That's kind of at odds with how I actually do feel about winter. I like it fine now...this skiing has changed my attitude a lot about winter and snow. But for me there is still something magical about the day we spring forward. Here in So. Colorado we had a wonderfully mild winter this year anyway so I can't complain.

  3. Those colors are beautiful. Yes...it's coming...slow but sure. It will be weird this evening with longer sunlight, but that's a good thing!

  4. We had our first spring-like day here yesterday. We had a picnic at my sister's house, sat outside on the swing, and my nieces wore shorts and sandals. It was in the mid-70s (F). Beautiful!

  7. These are beautiful. I keep hoping for spring, but it snows each time I think it's almost here.
Thank you for these though. It keeps me hoping.

  8. Love the dream. :-) And the tulips...We haven't any here yet. I am waiting on the edge of my chair waiting for them to bloom (and in the meantime may head to the corner deli to buy a bunch...You really can't beat $6 for around 10 stems!).
