they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who visits here and a special thank you to those who leave comments & lots of them lately ! You are my charming gardeners, you've helped me begin my 6th year of blogging (wow) with a renewed zest & zeal I was sure I'd lost along the way. You help me love my blog again. You make me happy & I think you know who you all are. Some have been coming here for the long haul, others of you are relative newcomers. Thank you, thank you ! I appreciate your comments, questions, thoughts, ideas & conversation so much more than you will ever know.
Thank you ! merci !
* thoughts on zooming - I'm not even sure that's what you call it (I had to stop just now and google zoom). I'm just not much of a zoom telephoto gal as you know I like to get super close and on top of (or under) my subject & way up close if I can so I rarely use the 5x zoom (only adequate at best) feature on my adored Canon G12 ... but sometimes it does come in handy - the light, colour and reflection across the harbour caught my eye this morning.

Beautiful winter scenes. i really like the one of the building by the pond. We're in a summer heatwave here.....
ReplyDeleteHappy 14th Birthday, Winnie, and wishes for a long and happy life! I think you're there already!
ReplyDeleteCoincidentally, helping my 15 year old daughter clean her bedroom this afternoon, I came across a festive notecard we decorated together many years ago with "LLW" written on it several times. Puzzled over what "LLW" meant: "Long Live Winnie." Winnie was our orange spokescat, the card was made for his 16th birthday.
Oh, Happy Birthday, ms. Winnie Dixon, from Gracie and Marco Polo and little miss Susie! That last photo/portrait of the birthday girl is especially charming.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and colorful winter pictures.
Happy Birthday Winnie - 'you look mahvelous!' - quote from Billy Crystal :)
The zoom pics are very good. I have a G2 (an oldie but still works very well), the Canon zoom is far better than hubby's newer Nikon. A steady hand or mono/tripod is all that is needed for a good zoom pic (and of course, subject matter).
did you guys make her a special birthday breakfast???!!! I am sure it was a grand day had by all. Tail wags always ~moose
ReplyDeleteSusan, You are a joy. Though I have long left the northeast for southern climes, I so enjoy your sharing your environment and philosophy and art and critters. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteJealous of that snow, it's 8C here today, supposed to be 12C tomorrow. Quite likely to screw up our orchards, gardens, etc. for another year. Enjoyed your photos! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame our students, who enjoy photos of your Winnie D so much, are all away on school holidays. Wouldn't the class have enjoyed making her individual cards to send off in the snail mail! Happy Birthday Winnie - you made our literature studies even more interesting.xx
ReplyDeleteGlorious Winter scenes and of course Sam and Winnie. The colours look so beautiful contrasting with the white of the snow and the rays of sunshine.
ReplyDeletexoxoxo ♡
I am so jealous of the view from your window ... sigh ...
ReplyDeleteNice boots.
Hi Susan ! Wow that last photo would make the most amazing painting. Whenever I see great dog photos, I want to paint them :) Happy day beautiful girl !
ReplyDeleteA belated happy 14th to Miss WD!!! She is STILL the most AMAZING blog dog on the planet!!! Love her and love YOU!!! So glad your zest for your blog has been revived. I can't imagine a week without you!!!
ReplyDeleteI’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s equally educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. The problem is something not enough folks are speaking intelligently about. Now i'm very happy that I stumbled across this during my hunt for something regarding this.
