mmm - love the rusty bolt one. i've always been fascinated by that juxtaposition of weathered industrial/manufactured artifact with natural surroundings. like those (i think it's) Thaddeus Holownia shots of the disused old haying/farm equipment slowly rusting away in fields. we used to come across them as kids playing out in the fields and woods, and i remember spending hours poring over them - trying to figure out what the various levers, cogs and so on actually did. and old trucks that people would just drive/tow into the woods and leave; after 30 years, they'd look like the skeletal remains of some extinct animal. nothing like growing up outside! happy thanksgiving - hope you're doing the whole big bird thing! - n
