autumn collections - from the 29 Black Street photo archives
I had a massage last night. A lovely paid for perk included with my new extended self employed health care package. I'm allowed 8 massages a year and you can bet I'm not goin' miss a one. I take my own music CD with me to listen to during the massage 'cause it really helps me to relax - come to find out relaxing is not something that comes naturally to me. Oh I fool myself all the time - I can seem relaxed, I have no problem lying horizontally tucked snug into the nest of down & flannel with a book and a cat or two - but that head of mine, that mind is always spinning - thoughts are zippin' around constantly. It's just a waste (I think) to have a massage with a busy mind so ... listening to a CD of favourite slow songs seems to do the trick.
This Blue Rodeo song from 5 Days in July (an amazing album) is one of those songs.

Five Days in July is one of my all time favorites! Love all your Autumn treasures. Massages, just another reason we need a health care plan in the US!!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day. Tail Wags to All.

Five Days in May is a great song on Five Days in July...is what I meant to add!!
ReplyDeleteNow is there a method to you madness, a rhyme to your reason in the layout of your bits and pieces? By tree or perhaps a section of your jungle? It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHey Moose ! another Blue Rodeo fan - this is one of those albums that every single song is great.
ReplyDeleteOkay see, that's why the Canadian Health Care is better. Massages? Scheesh. We're lucky if our package pays for mammograms. And I won't shock you with how much we two self-employed souls pay a month for the priviledge!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I have been a fan of massage therapy for years because I have Fibromyalgia! Last year Hubby got me a Private Massuse Chair. It does just as good as the ones I got at the Spa and I can stay in it as long as I want! Good for you! They are so devine! Come see my new baby! :) xoxo to you and the Gang!
ReplyDeleteoh my GOD those are beautiful you are the best- and you have that taxonomy thing in common with big shamu!!
ReplyDelete#2 is the schnizzle
I love your photography! Excellent composition and color. What kind of camera do you use?
ReplyDeleteHooray... it's not just me who can't relax, even during a massage!! I was thinking I'd switch to upper body only, and see if I can relax with that. But your music idea is fantastic. Since my relaxation music is Nine Inch Nails, perhaps I'll try an mp3 player & headphones instead of a cd. Thanks for the tip!!
ReplyDeleteLove the song even if rathr oddly country western for a Canadian band! From your posts at least, it woudl seem you guys are having a rennaissance of sorts musically. LOVE it all. So much better then the maufactured same old here. A very lush sound indeed. Love the collections pics too.
