… put your camera around your neck
along with putting on your shoes, and there it is,
an appendage of the body that shares your life with you.

A Passionate Observer update - as you know if you've been following along here - the month of June become one of the busiest months I've had in a very long time - filled with fantastic projects and tight deadlines. I have not had the time & concentration to get our photo club the Passionate Observer up and running but please know that come July (& August) I see a lovely summertime stretch of quieter, less frantic time - a creative retreat of sorts before I go all Gung ho ! again in September - I'm enrolled in the fabulous 3 part e-course The Art & Business of Surface Design.

The camera is an instrument that teaches
people how to see without a camera.

I love photography. I love the history of photography, the habit, the discipline, the meditative & therapeutic qualities of seeing & looking and I want so much to go on this journey together - our group of keenly passionate observers. So dear friends & photo cohorts hang tight please because we will begin our adventure in July & I can't wait.

This benefit of seeing...can come only if you pause a while, extricate yourself from the maddening mob of quick impressions ceaselessly battering our lives, and look thoughtfully at a quiet image... the viewer must be willing to pause, to look again, to meditate.
