  4. I am also a picky person. But the first thing I noticed was the flooring—wow! That black-and-white checkerboard usually looks old-fashioned but not here. I love the way the counter is an extension of the windowsill, making use of that otherwise dead corner. I did not notice the radiator until you pointed it out. In the interest of domestic harmony, I will maintain a neutral position on the need for a radiator cover. That Prince is a clever one, and handy! Oliver supervised?

  6. I love it too !! especially all that storage space. I too love the windowsill/counter top/cat perch all in one flowing line. I'm sure a kitten basket near that window will be a sure Virgil magnet. Thank you for the floor comment - the Prince was inspired by the previous floor. Big long handpainted black & white harlequin diamonds with a black border (a mathematical measuring feat on my part that stuns to this day, neither my forte at all) - sadly I painted it years & years ago without proper pre-paint prep or finishing varnish & it was a chipped painted linoleum mess. & yes !! Oliver did supervise & twice daily inspections of every minute detail and step.

Next project/room - "the kitchen" (sung by les chorus of angels)

  11. wow! it is stunning. are you truly able to keep those surfaces completely clear? I just can't seem to make/let(?) that happen here. I'm particularly taken with the window curtain and the typography... self made?

  12. Yes Kathie - sort of handmade. It was a favourite shower curtain cut shorter and sewn to metal rings so it's swishes back & forth with ease. I really love keeping the counters clean because I am the most reluctant housekeeper & this way it's so easy to clean - just a swipe with my aromatherapy cleaner & we're done ;-)
