big beautiful sky silhouetted against our early morning heavenly walk

The night was filled with heavy rain, thunder and lightening flashes and the breeze blowing in our open windows this morning is cool. The sky over our harbour is dark and grey, black with clouds filled with more rain. It feels like September and melancholy hangs thick and heavy in this air.

Sorrow fully accepted brings it's own gifts.
For there is alchemy in sorrow.
It can be transmuted into wisdom,
which, if it does not bring joy,
can yet bring happiness

Pearl S. Buck

oh yeah sure Pearl. Wink.

I do believe this to be true and I'm just waitin' on the transmutation ... any day now.

Thank you blog friends and blogland for continually lifting me up and constantly inspiring me.

  2. I like the Pearl S. Buck quote. I am going to print it out and put it up on my wall. I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and hope it is true.

Thank you for stopping by a few times yesterday. I'm not getting around too fast today.

Much love to you and Winnie! xo

  8. I know you're thinking, "I'm gonna be the happiest, wisest woman on earth", but you know, I really think Miss Pearl knew what she was talking about. One thing I really value from my difficulties, is my ability to truly care for other people's pain. I don't think I had that before my hard times. At least, my version of hard times. I don't claim to be truly acquainted with the evils of this world. Gratefully.

  9. I wonder if it is similar to transmogrification? Seems to me Calvin and Hobbs had a special transmogrifying gun for that..... hmmmmm......

  10. Melancholy is something I'm all too familiar with. I kind of like it though too. September and Autumn really brings that on. This weekend it's surprisingly rained here adding very much to that pensive mood.
